The Napa Estate Don Diego comes, fittingly, in the most kaleidoscopic aluminum tube anyone on our panel has seen. With its yellow, gold, greens and brown-beige colors, the tube transports us to California's Napa Valley, which is similar to the verdant green landscape of the Dominican Republic, where the cigar was made. The cigar inside the pretty package is a blend of well-aged Cuban-seed Dominican long-fillers wrapped in an attractive Connecticut shade wrapper. This medium-bodied stick is a subtle smoke, mild and mellow, with notes of cedar, cream, and slightly sweet tobacco undertones. This month's International Wine of the Month's Club Brut Cremant de Loire will complement this cigar beautifully; but, in deference to its California moniker, you might want to enjoy it with your favorite Napa bubbly.
