Quintero is the Honduran-made version of the famous old Quintero brand from Cuba. Quintero means "farmer," and honors those responsible for the tobaccos in this blend. The brand has a complete bench of top ratings: 92, 91, and a handful of 90s. The medium-bodied cigar features a combination of long-fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras, contained by a toothy Corojo wrapper from Honduras. Some panelists felt if we weren’t featuring two other powerhouses this month, then the Quintero could be classified as full-bodied because it’s very tasty compared to most medium flavored cigars. Look for a light spicy sweet taste with creamy notes of chocolate. The burn is exceptional and its deep, hearty flavors don’t overpower and satisfy throughout. Consider smoking this one with a hoppy India Pale Ale.
