The recent winner of General Cigar Co.'s Election 2003 for "the best value-priced, full-bodied premium cigar in America." This box-pressed double corona is handmade under the direction of Estelo Padrón, Hoyo de Monterrey's cigar master. The Sancho Panza Caballero is made with Cuban-seed filler, with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and is wrapped with a Connecticut Shade wrapper. We found it to be a medium to full bodied smoke, providing lots of rich tobacco flavor, with hints of pepper, nuts, and leather. Look for an easy draw with a spicy, pleasing aroma up front. Consider pairing it with a semi-sweet, woody port or robust, roasted Porter.
