Using the same blending techniques used to create the wildly successful Kahlua and ACID cigars, Drew Estate has introduced Sauza Tres Generaciones. The long leaf Nicaraguan filler tobaccos have been cured with premium Añejo (aged) Sauza tequila, which acquires its delicate amber hue and flavor—best described as a soft blend of pepper and oak with a slight hint of butterscotch—during the three years it spends aging in oak barrels. Sauza Tequila was founded in 1873 by Don Cenobio Sauza in his hometown of Tequila Mexico. A true pioneer, he was known for his innovations in production and standards of excellence and was the first to export Tequila to the United States. His son, Don Eladio and grandson, Don Javier, later joined him in the family business. There are three cigars in the Sauza line, much like there are three varieties of tequila (Silver, Gold and Añejo), named after these three members of the first family of Tequila. Immediately note the floral and creamy bouquet of this Churchill. The Adobe Cameroon-seed wrapper is a beauty to behold, but the infusion of vintage 100% blue agave tequila imparts a super-smooth, creamy yet peppery flavor with notes of oak, vanilla, butterscotch, rose petals and a touch of champagne. Excellent with, what else, Añejo Sauza Tequila, neat or on the rocks.
